Renee's ex denies gay rumours

Country music idol Kenny Chesney denied that he is gay, following his sensational split from Bridget Jones' Diary star Renee Zellwegger.

The fact that the marriage ended in annulment rather than divorce, which normally happens when the marriage was not valid in the eyes of the law in the first place, set Hollywood watchers' tongues wagging.

The use of the word "fraud" on the separation documents, and its subsequent removal, have caused speculation about Chesney's sexuality.

According to family.findlaw.com, fraud is used as a reason for annulment: "If one of the parties did not tell the truth, or misrepresented information in order to induce the other party to enter into the marriage".

Chesney, however, told CBS News: "The only fraud that was committed was me thinking that I knew what it was like ... that I really understood what it was like to be married, and I really didn't,"

As far as the public are concerned, the jury is still out.

Whilst commentors on OutsideTheBeltway.com announce “Kenny Chesney is gay, pure and simple” many of his fans protest on discussion boards: “I don’t think Kenny Chesney is gay because he is a really awesome singer.” 

Well said.  Everyone knows gays can't sing at all.
