Ricky Martin speaks about coming out

RickymartinCchavez

Flamboyant Hispanic singer Ricky Martin has voiced his support for Mexican pop twink Christian Chavez.

Chavez, 12, mildly surprised a few deeply unobservant Mexicans earlier this month by coming out of the closet.

Oh no hold on he is 23. Sorry.

Martin, who is touring Mexico, said:

"Life is too short to live closed up, guarding what you say. I wish him much strength."

Isn't it though Ricky?

The 35-year-old best-selling recording artist has been brutally frank in the past.

In an interview in December 2005 he told Blender magazine that he loves nothing more than giving his lovers a nice refreshing golden shower.

He has also spoken publicly about his toe fetish.

Female journalist's Drew Barrymore claims

Drewbarrymore

A magazine editor has revealed that she has done lesbian sex with Hollywood star Drew Barrymore.

According to Us magazine, Jane Pratt, former editor of Jane magazine, followed up her comments on the Howard Stern radio show a few years ago when she said she had experience 'girl love' with a celeb.

"It was someone famous. I did have sex with Drew Barrymore." she is reported to have said.

Drew is currently starring alongside Hugh Grant in the movie Music and Lyrics, which is in cinemas now.

Her people have refused to comment. Pratt is now married with a kid.

The Hollywood star has publicly talked about her bisexuality.

In the July 2003 issue of New Woman magazine she said: "Do I like women sexually? Yeah, I do. Totally. I have always considered myself bisexual.

"I love a woman's body. I think a woman and a woman together are beautiful, just as a man and a woman together are beautiful. Being with a woman is like exploring your own body, but through someone else. When I was younger I used to go with lots of women. Totally - I love it."

I Can't Believe It's Not Lubricant

Boybutter
A cheeky advert modelled on one of the most memorable campaigns of the 1990s has been approved for broadcast in two American cities.

Boybutter uses the iconic I Can't Believe It's Not ..... format to market itself. It will be the first time a gay sex lubricant will be advertised on TV.

Broadcasters in LA and New York have OKed the commercial, but San Francisco gays will be condemned to continued chafing.

“The agents from Comcast in San Francisco declined to air our “You Won’t Believe It’s Not Boy Butter” spot because it was deemed to controversial,” says Boy Butter creator Eyal Feldman, according to Rainbow Network.

Dolly's same sex fantasies

Country singer Dolly Parton has been telling Dolly reporters in Europe that she has lesbian flights of fantasy where she imagines making love to a "hot young woman."

Dolly, on a sell-out tour of Europe, was quoted by WENN as confiding:

"When I have sex with my husband these days, I fantasise I am with someone like Keith Urban or a petite, hot young woman."

She also told a British magazine her first crush was on a Tennessee prostitute:

"I thought she was beautiful. She had more hair, more colour, more everything."

In February
last year she revealed she has been receiving hate mail in reaction to her increasing gay following.

American paper USA Today claimed Ms Parton has been targeted because of her largely gay male fan base. She said: "Having a big gay following, I get hate mail and threats."

Quote of the Day!

Juleslulu

Gay hero Julian Bennett has revealed the key to what it means to be a gay man.

Julian, best known for his intellectual programme "Jules & Lulu Show,"  gave Metro the benefit of his wisdom on the use of the word 'gay' as an insult.

"People say things are gay if they mean they're crap. I don't care. If they researched the word they'd know gay means happy and we're happy because we wear fantastic clothes and have a fabulous lifestyle."

As we reported earlier this month, an auction of Shirley Bassey's dresses will be held in Cafe de Paris in London on Friday, hosted by Mr Bennett.

Madonna's "monkey see monkey do" behaviour continues unabated

Kylieexhib

Our American friends at  GayWired.com report:

"According to Suzy Menkes’ column in the International Herald Tribune, Madonna is contemplating putting together a 25-year retrospective of both her personal and performance wardrobe.

Apparently, Madge has spent two years working on the idea for the retrospective, which she envisions to also include video and photographs by famed photogs like the late Herb Ritts, Steven Meisel and Mario Testino.

No word yet on a date or venue for the retrospective, but one thing is for sure – if and when it happens it will be the gayest happening on the planet… bar none. "

Er we think it might be the second gayest thing ever, after the Kylie exhibition.

Spent two years on it? Really??????

Well it is not like she spent the time pefecting a convincing English accent, or indeed "designing" some pleb clothes for H&M.

Madonna proving once again that she has never actually had an original idea in her life.

Vogue? Nicked it. Posh English lady? Hardly original - or well executed. Everything else? Bollocks. Kaballah? Oh, is that the sound of a bandwagon I hear? RUN, MADONNA, RUN! You might miss it!

Thorpe: now gay rumours do bother me

Ianthorpe2
In August, Ian Thorpe said gay rumours did not bother him.

Known as the ‘Thorpedo‘, he won five Olympic gold medals for Australia, and had high hopes for more glory at the 2008 Beijing games, but retired last year at the age of 24.

Thorpe has been the subject of endless speculation from the Australian press.

He is an avid follower of fashion and has launched his own jewellery line and fragrance. He also works as an ‘ambassador’ for Armani.

Now he has clarified the position - he is not a  homosexualist.

He spoke candidly to ladies periodical Australian Good Weekend and said categorically that he is not a gay.

"I’m not gay," he said. See, told you.

" I’m lucky that within myself I don’t care enough to get worried or upset over it.”

He said he has been a homo pin-up since he was 15, and is now sick of the constant rumours.

“I don’t think anyone should have to be asked that question. You don’t have to come out and declare you’re straight. It shouldn’t be a big deal today, but people still get hang-ups over it.”

MTV looking for gays to talk about relationships

Mtv

Here at PinkNews.co.uk we LOVE MTV

Lots of US networks are seemingly mostly staffed by gays, but when it comes to dealing with us on screen, they all get a bit Will& Grace about things.

First off, if you have not seen the awesome "gay skateboarders" trailer that MTV blasted at every teen in the USA then you really must ....

Except they taken it offline - it was on YouTube but now " This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Viacom International Inc." apparently

Just to summarise two sk8r dudes build a ramp and then like totally make out  -- not a peck on the cheek a proper snog! and then the logo says END DISCRIMINATION

Love it! They also support a whole  host of gay organisations in the States where it is not commercially the smartest thing to do so massive respect to them for that.

MTV UK contacted us to ask if any young gay people to feature in a show about young love.

If you're aged between 16 and 25, and you have an interesting story or point of view, then they want to hear from you.

They want to know whether gay relationships are easier or harder, whether you've had your heart broken or you think being young free and easy is the only way to be.

If you think you would be the star of the show, then e-mail love@mtvne.com or call 020 72784 6392 and tell them why.

Brand Beckham Prepares to Pitch America

Beckham
It looks like Brand Beckham will make its debut stateside before the man himself.

God among men, David Beckham has not even been snapped buying his first latte in Hollywood, and yet it appears that the savvy Beckham marketing machine is already running at top speed in the US.

As part of what is sure to be only the first of many marketing campaigns designed to position the impossibly gorgeous international soccer giant as America’s most famous sports personality, Beckham recently shot photos for his new lifestyle clothing collection from Adidas.

Predominantly made up of loose-fitting tracksuits and hoodies, Beckham’s Adidas line has a definite hip-hop vibe, which the famous footballer channeled brilliantly judging from the campaign images that have surfaced thus far.

But then again… hip-hop… be-bop… or bell-hop… is it even possible for David Beckham to take a bad photo? Looks like his could sell water on a sinking ship. Which probably explains my sudden interest in soccer and the Los Angeles Galaxy now that I think about it.

Aussie Idol comes out of closet

Callea
A few weeks ago a name-dropping radio presenter accidentally outed him .... now Anthony Callea has said it for himself.

The singer, who came runner up in Australian Idol and has subsequently had the the highest-selling single in Australian chart history with The Prayer.

"I'm not ashamed of being gay, but it's not in my nature to go out and promote it," he told the Herald Sun newspaper.

"I want to be known as a singer and as a performer. This shouldn't change anything."

Callea said that while making the TV show he felt pressure not to come out - he did not want to be the "gay" contestant.

Well done Anthony! :)
