Ricky Martin speaks about coming out

RickymartinCchavez

Flamboyant Hispanic singer Ricky Martin has voiced his support for Mexican pop twink Christian Chavez.

Chavez, 12, mildly surprised a few deeply unobservant Mexicans earlier this month by coming out of the closet.

Oh no hold on he is 23. Sorry.

Martin, who is touring Mexico, said:

"Life is too short to live closed up, guarding what you say. I wish him much strength."

Isn't it though Ricky?

The 35-year-old best-selling recording artist has been brutally frank in the past.

In an interview in December 2005 he told Blender magazine that he loves nothing more than giving his lovers a nice refreshing golden shower.

He has also spoken publicly about his toe fetish.

Female journalist's Drew Barrymore claims

Drewbarrymore

A magazine editor has revealed that she has done lesbian sex with Hollywood star Drew Barrymore.

According to Us magazine, Jane Pratt, former editor of Jane magazine, followed up her comments on the Howard Stern radio show a few years ago when she said she had experience 'girl love' with a celeb.

"It was someone famous. I did have sex with Drew Barrymore." she is reported to have said.

Drew is currently starring alongside Hugh Grant in the movie Music and Lyrics, which is in cinemas now.

Her people have refused to comment. Pratt is now married with a kid.

The Hollywood star has publicly talked about her bisexuality.

In the July 2003 issue of New Woman magazine she said: "Do I like women sexually? Yeah, I do. Totally. I have always considered myself bisexual.

"I love a woman's body. I think a woman and a woman together are beautiful, just as a man and a woman together are beautiful. Being with a woman is like exploring your own body, but through someone else. When I was younger I used to go with lots of women. Totally - I love it."

I Can't Believe It's Not Lubricant

Boybutter
A cheeky advert modelled on one of the most memorable campaigns of the 1990s has been approved for broadcast in two American cities.

Boybutter uses the iconic I Can't Believe It's Not ..... format to market itself. It will be the first time a gay sex lubricant will be advertised on TV.

Broadcasters in LA and New York have OKed the commercial, but San Francisco gays will be condemned to continued chafing.

“The agents from Comcast in San Francisco declined to air our “You Won’t Believe It’s Not Boy Butter” spot because it was deemed to controversial,” says Boy Butter creator Eyal Feldman, according to Rainbow Network.

Dolly's same sex fantasies

Country singer Dolly Parton has been telling Dolly reporters in Europe that she has lesbian flights of fantasy where she imagines making love to a "hot young woman."

Dolly, on a sell-out tour of Europe, was quoted by WENN as confiding:

"When I have sex with my husband these days, I fantasise I am with someone like Keith Urban or a petite, hot young woman."

She also told a British magazine her first crush was on a Tennessee prostitute:

"I thought she was beautiful. She had more hair, more colour, more everything."

In February
last year she revealed she has been receiving hate mail in reaction to her increasing gay following.

American paper USA Today claimed Ms Parton has been targeted because of her largely gay male fan base. She said: "Having a big gay following, I get hate mail and threats."

Quote of the Day!

Juleslulu

Gay hero Julian Bennett has revealed the key to what it means to be a gay man.

Julian, best known for his intellectual programme "Jules & Lulu Show,"  gave Metro the benefit of his wisdom on the use of the word 'gay' as an insult.

"People say things are gay if they mean they're crap. I don't care. If they researched the word they'd know gay means happy and we're happy because we wear fantastic clothes and have a fabulous lifestyle."

As we reported earlier this month, an auction of Shirley Bassey's dresses will be held in Cafe de Paris in London on Friday, hosted by Mr Bennett.

Madonna's "monkey see monkey do" behaviour continues unabated

Kylieexhib

Our American friends at  GayWired.com report:

"According to Suzy Menkes’ column in the International Herald Tribune, Madonna is contemplating putting together a 25-year retrospective of both her personal and performance wardrobe.

Apparently, Madge has spent two years working on the idea for the retrospective, which she envisions to also include video and photographs by famed photogs like the late Herb Ritts, Steven Meisel and Mario Testino.

No word yet on a date or venue for the retrospective, but one thing is for sure – if and when it happens it will be the gayest happening on the planet… bar none. "

Er we think it might be the second gayest thing ever, after the Kylie exhibition.

Spent two years on it? Really??????

Well it is not like she spent the time pefecting a convincing English accent, or indeed "designing" some pleb clothes for H&M.

Madonna proving once again that she has never actually had an original idea in her life.

Vogue? Nicked it. Posh English lady? Hardly original - or well executed. Everything else? Bollocks. Kaballah? Oh, is that the sound of a bandwagon I hear? RUN, MADONNA, RUN! You might miss it!

Thorpe: now gay rumours do bother me

Ianthorpe2
In August, Ian Thorpe said gay rumours did not bother him.

Known as the ‘Thorpedo‘, he won five Olympic gold medals for Australia, and had high hopes for more glory at the 2008 Beijing games, but retired last year at the age of 24.

Thorpe has been the subject of endless speculation from the Australian press.

He is an avid follower of fashion and has launched his own jewellery line and fragrance. He also works as an ‘ambassador’ for Armani.

Now he has clarified the position - he is not a  homosexualist.

He spoke candidly to ladies periodical Australian Good Weekend and said categorically that he is not a gay.

"I’m not gay," he said. See, told you.

" I’m lucky that within myself I don’t care enough to get worried or upset over it.”

He said he has been a homo pin-up since he was 15, and is now sick of the constant rumours.

“I don’t think anyone should have to be asked that question. You don’t have to come out and declare you’re straight. It shouldn’t be a big deal today, but people still get hang-ups over it.”

MTV looking for gays to talk about relationships

Mtv

Here at PinkNews.co.uk we LOVE MTV

Lots of US networks are seemingly mostly staffed by gays, but when it comes to dealing with us on screen, they all get a bit Will& Grace about things.

First off, if you have not seen the awesome "gay skateboarders" trailer that MTV blasted at every teen in the USA then you really must ....

Except they taken it offline - it was on YouTube but now " This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Viacom International Inc." apparently

Just to summarise two sk8r dudes build a ramp and then like totally make out  -- not a peck on the cheek a proper snog! and then the logo says END DISCRIMINATION

Love it! They also support a whole  host of gay organisations in the States where it is not commercially the smartest thing to do so massive respect to them for that.

MTV UK contacted us to ask if any young gay people to feature in a show about young love.

If you're aged between 16 and 25, and you have an interesting story or point of view, then they want to hear from you.

They want to know whether gay relationships are easier or harder, whether you've had your heart broken or you think being young free and easy is the only way to be.

If you think you would be the star of the show, then e-mail love@mtvne.com or call 020 72784 6392 and tell them why.

Brand Beckham Prepares to Pitch America

Beckham
It looks like Brand Beckham will make its debut stateside before the man himself.

God among men, David Beckham has not even been snapped buying his first latte in Hollywood, and yet it appears that the savvy Beckham marketing machine is already running at top speed in the US.

As part of what is sure to be only the first of many marketing campaigns designed to position the impossibly gorgeous international soccer giant as America’s most famous sports personality, Beckham recently shot photos for his new lifestyle clothing collection from Adidas.

Predominantly made up of loose-fitting tracksuits and hoodies, Beckham’s Adidas line has a definite hip-hop vibe, which the famous footballer channeled brilliantly judging from the campaign images that have surfaced thus far.

But then again… hip-hop… be-bop… or bell-hop… is it even possible for David Beckham to take a bad photo? Looks like his could sell water on a sinking ship. Which probably explains my sudden interest in soccer and the Los Angeles Galaxy now that I think about it.

Aussie Idol comes out of closet

Callea
A few weeks ago a name-dropping radio presenter accidentally outed him .... now Anthony Callea has said it for himself.

The singer, who came runner up in Australian Idol and has subsequently had the the highest-selling single in Australian chart history with The Prayer.

"I'm not ashamed of being gay, but it's not in my nature to go out and promote it," he told the Herald Sun newspaper.

"I want to be known as a singer and as a performer. This shouldn't change anything."

Callea said that while making the TV show he felt pressure not to come out - he did not want to be the "gay" contestant.

Well done Anthony! :)

Sir Ian bares all on stage

Mckellen
Lord of the Rings star Sir Ian McKellan stunned theatre-goers when he stripped naked in a performance of the Shakespearean tragedy King Lear.

The 67-year-old actor and gay rights activist dropped his trousers and underpants and then pulled off his shirt during the play's classic storm scene.

"It was completely unexpected. When we went into the play, there were signs warning us about loud noises, but there was no mention of full nudity," said one member of the audience.

A spokeswoman for The Royal Shakespeare Company said that a meeting would be held today to discuss whether parents and school groups should be warned about the play's contents.

Man has birthday party, woman falls over

Elton
Donatella Versace made a headline-grabbing entrance at Elton John's extravagant birthday bash on Sunday when she slipped in front of hundreds of paparazzi.

The Italian fashion designer was attending Sir Elton John's 60th birthday at Manhattan's St John the Divine Cathedral.

She stepped out of her limo in a striking purple dress only to grab the spotlight for the wrong reasons when she slipped on the wet stairs.

Picking herself up with the help of a security guard she went on to join the celebrations with the rest of star-studded guest list.

A-list actors including Robin Williams, Kiefer Sutherland, Elizabeth Hurley and Liv Tyler were in attendance and musicians Ozzy Osbourne, wife Sharon, Kid Rock and Yoko Ono were also on hand to wish John well.

David Walliams and Matt Lucas, the stars of Little Britain were also found the time to cross the Atlantic.

The celebrations culminated in a concert performed by the birthday boy himself. It was a record-breaking 60th concert  at Madison Square Garden. 20,000 people attended.

Gym music favourites revealed

Dumbells
It's official: gay icons and boybands make the best music to get sweaty to.

A nationwide Standard Life Healthcare poll yesterday revealed that the Scissor Sisters,  are the band most listened to whilst running, swimming and pumping iron, with 15% of the votes.

They were closely followed by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Madonna and Take That in the top five workout favourites.

Standard Life Healthcare’s Mandy Blanks said: ‘Music has an important role to play in our wellbeing. It has the ability to lift our spirits and helps create the mood for enjoying exercise."

Perhaps the upbeat quasi-disco of Madonna's Confessions on a Dancefloor lightens those dumbbells. Perhaps Robbie Williams' cheeky pop-rock distracts from cramp and stitches.

Or perhaps listening helps you to imagine Madge or Robbie standing at the end of the running machine - if you could only run just a little faster....

Carmen Electra - lesbian or marketing tool?

Iwantcandy
The Sun reports this morning that former Baywatch star Carmen Electra is in a relationship with rocker Joan Jett.

Electra, 34, who is in the UK promoting her new Brit flick I Want Candy, is reported to have been seeing the 48-year-old musician for four months.

Electra is divorced from former Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro.

Electra and Jett are said to be attending the gay Dinah Shore Weekend, a source told The Sun “It’s known as the lesbian prom. Carmen and Joan are planning on enjoying all the fun the weekend has to offer — and they’ll be making a very clear statement to the world by attending together.”

The Sun has been criticised for running a series of stories about the movie I Want Candy, which was part-financed by News International, owners of The Sun.

The film, dubbed a British American Pie, opens in cinemas today.

David Miliband "flattered" to be a gay icon

Davidmiliband_2
First it was Channel 4 news hunk Jon Snow. Now it seems that twinky Environment minister David Miliband has been outed as a gay icon.

Last year gay comedian Julian Clary wrote in the New Statesman that he found Miliband, 41, sexy.

"Quite attractive, especially when he undoes his top button at fringe meetings. Puts me in mind of a bit of rough from Liverpool,'' wrote Clary, who clearly has rose-tinted views of the Liverpudlian working class.

The Daily Telegraph have picked up on these 2006 comment - er - towards the end of March 2007,  and say that PinkNews "regularly" contrasts Mr Miliband's healthy gay voting record against that of Chancellor Gordon Brown.

Being a serious news organisation, PinkNews would never consider phoning the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and asking trivial questions about ministers being gay icons.

So luckily the Torygraph did it for us.

"I'm sure David will be very flattered to learn this," was the response.

So he should be.

With Adam Rickitt and Zac Goldsmith, not to mention hunky Barnet councillor Mike Freer, on their way to Westminster, Mr Miliband's reputation as MP most likely to set gay pulses racing is in serious danger.

And for the record, Mr Miliband was ABSENT from the Commons vote on the Sexual Orientation Regulations on Monday, though his brother Ed did vote for gay rights.

Yes.

Ed. Elected May 5th 2005. Made a Treasury minister on May 5th 2006. All eyes on May 5th 2007 then.

Bit of a high-flyer that one.

See picture below.
Like he just stepped out of a salon.

Shakin' Stevens showed Matt Lucas he was gay

Lucas

Little Britain star Matt Lucas has revealed that the vision of 1980s loveliness that was Wales' very own version of Elvis Presley used to float his pre-teenage boat.

Matt told Attitude that staring at a poster of Shakin' Stevens was one of his first homo memories:

“The first time I’d an inkling I was gay was looking at that picture when I was seven.

“I’m sure the thoughts weren’t sexual, but there was something there.

“Later on, at an all-boys private school, my feelings for the same sex dominated.”

Stevens,  who turned 59 earlier this month, was the top selling UK singles artist of the 1980s. He wore very tight jeans and moved his hips a lot, just like Elvis.

He still performs regularly and has a new album coming out this year.

Oh, we came over all Buzzcocks there!

Lesbian snog on Neighbours - ratings still flatline

Neighbourslesbian_2 Neighbourslesbian
It is a sad day for Australian culture. It seems the flagship drama Neighbours is suffering from one of the worst ratings slumps in its 22-year history.

The show has in the last month featured everything from girl-on-girl action to Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) playing with explosives, but to no avail.

The Ramsay St drama is only getting 700,000 viewers in Australia, while funky, sexy, sunny Home and Away is well above a million!

Dan Bennett, drama executive at Ten, the network responsible for the Neighbours, told The Daily Telegraph:

"Storylines are going to be re-focused on what has quintessentially been at the heart of Neighbours: relationships and family dynamics.

"There can be the occasional bomb blast - no soap is complete without it - but at the end of the day, Neighbours began as a show about friends and families living on a street and all the problems people face every day. And that's what we'll be heading back to.

"We'll be saying goodbye to quite a few characters. It's important to bring new people on.''

He is 100% right about bomb blasts - what soap could survive without one?

Still no gay characters though, after all these years - not many Asian people either come to think of it .... perhaps if they started to reflect what Australia actually looks like they would have more success?

Castration - not on the NHS

Paramedic
News just in from North Carolina, where three men have been sentenced for carrying out DIY castrations.

Ouch.

The police described the set-up the men operated as a "sadomasochistic dungeon" where the men worked on willing victims, who travelled from as far as South America.

Six men attended the dungeon between 2004 and 2005, for various body modification surgery and castration.

Richard Peter Sciara, also known as "Master Rick", his partner of 20 years Michael Mendez, and their slave, Danny Carroll Reeves, pleaded guilty to federal castration and maiming.

Superior Court Judge Dennis Winner said it was difficult to call the dungeon's willing patients "victims," but he said six castrations performed there were certainly a crime.

Winner said:  "I think this is a type of perversion that cannot be tolerated by society."

Master Rick, 62, was sentenced to a year in prison, though he has served all but two weeks of that time.

Reeves and slave Mendez have already served their sentences and will enter four and two months of house arrest respectively, and three years of supervised probation.

They must have thought all their birthdays had come at once. The state dropped charges of misdemeanour practicing medicine without a licence and conspiracy in exchange for the guilty pleas.

Rather than dropping the charges, it may have been more effective to get a leather whip on them.  Surely that would have done the trick.

Sciara had worked as a physician's assistant for 23 years at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Centre in Kansas.

Britney "breakdown" now a marketing tool

Britneybald
The trials of Britney Spears have been splashed across the covers of magazines and newspapers across the globe, inspiring along the way non-stop commentary by comedians and entertainment reporters.

While Britney’s shorn locks are sold on E-Bay, hungry packs of paparazzi stalk the beleaguered singer wherever she goes… in or out of rehab.

Let’s face it, even in adversity, Britney sells …everything but albums, that is. Poor girl.

(I mean really… Even Whitney Houston was allowed more privacy and shown more deference while she was going through a similar rough patch only a few short months ago.

Now comes one of the most unexpected and unusual pop culture offshoots of Britney Spears’ public meltdown…a hotel package specifically designed for those who feel that they just might be about to lose the plot called the “Britney Breakdown Package”.

Uh…yeah…you read that correctly. Through May 31, San Francisco's Personality Hotels (Hotel Diva, the Kensington Park Hotel and the Hotel Metropolis) is offering a special “Britney Breakdown Package” package that includes deluxe overnight accommodations, a $50 gift certificate to a top San Francisco hair salon, a $25 gift card to an H&M clothing store, a lace thong, and a Marc Jacobs hand mirror.

Sorry no, Britney Spears Greatest Hits Collection included in this package as I presume this is not a marketing scheme approved by the troubled singer’s record label.

Pretty Tory picked for target seat

Goldsmith

The new face of the Conservatives is distinctly easier on the eye than Norman Tebbit.

Having selected TV doctor David Bull to contest Brighton Pavilion at the next election, the New Tories have gone one better and selected environmental guru Zac Goldsmith to contest Richmond Park whenever big Gordon decides to go to the country.

Zac, son of the late businessman and Euro troublemaker Sir James Goldsmith, is editor of The Ecologist, is stinking rich and is probably the most easily charismatic parliamentary candidate since, erm, hold on, we will think of one in a minute, er, oh ok then why not - since Tony Blair.

He is rumoured to be close to David Cameron and could feature in a future Tory government. Zac that is, not Tony.

Now if only they can find a nice safe seat for Adam Rickitt ...

ps: sorry for the TINY picture, it is the only one we could find that was, as they say, kosher.

Mika - my lyrics clue to my sexuality

Mika
Pop crooner Mika has hit out at journalists who say he is keeping mum about his sexual orientation.

Some commentators have judged his lack of clarity in interviews a smart move for any artist aspiring to a career in America.

Mika has been spotted by music industry giant Tommy Mottola and will be given a chance to break the US market, where so many Brit acts have failed before him.

His camp performances have sent gay pulses racing, but he refuses to be drawn.

"People say, 'You don't talk about sexuality because you're worried about success in the US.' I say, 'Have you heard the f****** album? There's a song about a married man who has a homosexual affair. There's no enigma," he told the Daily Mirror

Mika, real name Mica Penniman, was educated at the exclusive Westminster School, where politician of the moment Ruth Kelly also studied.

The tousle-locked 23-year-old, whose family fled war-torn Lebanon when he was a child, has shot to fame in the last year.

He was classically trained at the Royal College of Music and has been favourably compared to Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Scissor Sisters, Rufus Wainwright, and Sir Elton John.

Fame! I wanna live till Tuesday!

Fame

Ian Watkins, A.K.A 'H' from has-been pop group Steps, will appear in a run of performances of Fame at the Shaftsbury Theatre this summer.

Following his stint in Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, the former pre-pubescent pinup will perform alongside Natalie Casey, star of Hollyoaks and the BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

It appears that Watkins' choice to study musical theatre at the Royal Academy of Music has paid off; he has already starred in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in 2004 and Jesus Christ Superstar since.

A busy boy indeed. Apparently his Steps nickname 'H' - short for 'hyperactive' - wasn't too far off the mark.

Watkins famously revealed his sexuality just before entering the Big Brother house in February.  At the time he told The News of the World:

"I want people to see that I'm a genuine, hardworking guy, not a blonde yellow pedal-pusher wearer anymore."

Yellow pedal-pushers, be gone! But leg-warmers and leotards? Now, that's another matter entirely.

The show will run from 8th May at Shaftesbury Theatre in London.

Tickets priced from £17.50 - £55.00

60-year-old man has party

Shoreditch
Shoreditch Town Hall

A modest birthday party for a 60-year-old entertainer was held in London last night.

Shoreditch Town Hall was the venue for the celebrations.

Mr E John was joined by his life partner, Mr D Furnish, and several very close personal friends.

Mr John and Mr Furnish wore military fancy dress to the party, which was held jointly with socialite Ms Sam Taylor-Wood.

A bizarre collection of A to Z list celebrities were invited, from inoffensive Beatle Sir Paul McCartney to professional chest Ms Barbara Windsor, internationally famous fashion designer Mr Tom Ford to barely-famous-in-her-own-house singer Ms Natalie Imbruglia.

Mr David Walliams of course was invited, as was Mr Daniel Craig. When exactly did the new Bond become a friend of Mr John?

Or is the purpose of parties like this all about getting papped and very little to do with actual friendship?

Lily Allen - not gay

Lilyallen

Feisty pop sensation Lily Allen has said she is not a lesbian.

The 21-year-old star, daughter of bovver boy actor Keith Allen, said that rumours that she was into girls were "weird," reports contactmusic.com

Allen brought a smile to the faces of many Londoners this week with her repeated punching of pararrazi who hounded the petite star as she went about the perfectly legitimate business of drinking with her mates and boyfriend in Soho.

Three snappers were attacked by Allen on Monday night as she attempted to celebrate the end of her successful tour.

Allen then went to The Groucho Club, and allegedly abused others by shouting "I'm more famous than you c***s!"

"Lily was drunk, rude and out of order," someone told The Star.

"She staggered in, started screaming and really offended a lot of people. Her boyfriend was mortified and just sat in a corner looking embarrassed."

American Idol star in gay lawsuit

Mariovasquez
Former American Idol finalist Mario Vasquez has been accused of masturbating in front of one of the show's employees and offering him oral sex.

Cheeky Hispanic Vasquez got into the final 12 of the competition in 2005, before dropping out for "personal reasons."

It is thought he did so to avoid being bound by the restrictive contracts that finalist have to sign. However, Vasquez has yet to see his popularity on the show translate into CD sales, though the latest revelation may get him a whole new fanbase.

Idol employee Magdaleno Olmos has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit in Los Angeles against Vasquez, who he claims tried to seduce him inside a toilet.

Olmos, an assistant accountant for Idol, alleges that the lothario of the loos "looked through the space in the stall door and made eye contact" while touching himself.

Olmos claims when he tried to exit the cubicle, Vasquez stood in front of him with his trousers down and started masturbating, an episode which almost makes you grateful for Will Young's inoffensive, nicer-than-nice persona.

Vasquez is accused of trying to undo Olmos' pants and touching his chest, stomach and genitals, before asking "if he wanted oral sex."

Olmos says Idol staff did not investigate his complaints about Vasquez's behaviour.

It is not known what the judge will make of this karaoke, unoriginal performance, but as every reality TV addict knows, at the end of the day it is the public who will decide.

Fashion designer checks into rehab

Marcjacobsshoes
PinkNews bets that Marc Jacobs wishes he was in someone else's shoes right now, after falling off the wagon and abusing drugs and alcohol.

The 42-year-old fashion designer, famous for his shoes, has been seeking treatment for his addictions at a clinic in Arizona.

Jacobs, who is gay, has been artistic director for Louis Vuitton for ten years.

Business partner Robert Duffy told Women's Wear Daily: "Marc made the right decision."

"He'd been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away.

"Thankfully, Marc recognised the problem himself and chose to deal with it. Obviously, our prayers are with him."

Jacobs is expected back to leave rehab in April, at which time the consummate professional will resume work in preparation for September fashion shows.

It is expected that at that time Marc will be sympathetically supported by his vast army of size zero models, who best understand him, and more importantly, the principle of going without.

Kelly Osbourne's Sapphic adventure

Kellyosbourne

Wild child Kelly Osbourne got off with a girl while DJing at Soho club Circus on Saturday night - but it was no Madonna/Britney peck on the cheek, reports The Mirror.

She was flirting with the girl when things go a bit heated:

"It was the most raunchy scene ever. There was a lot of fumbling going on, their hands were going everywhere. They couldn't control themselves," a clubber told The Mirror.

"It started off friendly with the girl pinching Kelly's bum and giggling. Then Kelly whispered something in her ear, looked around and went in for a full-on snog.

"Kelly got pals to stand guard around the curtain so they wouldn't be disturbed. She thought no one could see but she was so wrong."

Kelly had been invited to DJ at the club by drag performer Jodie Harsh.Jodieharsh

The Mirror  also reports that the 22-year-old daughter of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy and X Factor judge Sharon is drinking pals with Amy Winehouse.

Last week Winehouse missed a gig in London, allegedly because she was too drunk to stand up.

Girls Behaving Badly, eh?

Naomi C, Rosie O'D and Britney S - Hollywood news

Britney

We’ve got Naomi Campbell mopping floors, Bobby Brown managing to wrap his hands around $20,000 while someone got Britney Spears back into some cute clothes.

All this and Rosie O’Donnell actually has cause to shut her yap.

I feel like all of Hollywood’s teamed up for an Episode of Wife Swap and no one told the press.

Don’t expect Naomi to don a French maid’s skirt when she picks up some Ajax and a mop for Sanitation Sunday next week.

When Naomi’s down on her knees with a scrub brush, me thinks she’ll contemplate placing a call to T-Mobile to discontinue service. One less inanimate object to tempt her when her maid rolls in late from a long weekend.

Stellar work, whatever judge came up with Naomi’s punishment. Teach her to stop beating the help by making her work like the help.

Scrub a dub-dub while the type of men likely to work in a sanitation department stand by with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editions from years past and tell Naomi to stay on her knees. Eye for an eye indeed.

And while we’re at it, shouldn’t someone send up a flare to housekeepers everywhere with Naomi’s bio and resume—work for this bitch at your own risk.

No sooner did that DC radio station bail Bobby out of the slammer than he turned around, came up with $20K and said sayonara.

Hell, he didn’t even make it through a ten minute phone interview—hung up in the middle of the call.

Whitney took him and Bobbi Kris out for dinner in LA the next night.
Wonder who popped for the plane ticket to fly him out there?

Word is they left in separate cars. Whitney doesn’t want him to know where she lives… it takes seven years to get a squatter off your property in the state of California once he starts getting mail there.

Mother of two Britney Spears has managed to stay in rehab for nearly two weeks, though varied reports suggest she’s not happy, doesn’t believe she has a drinking problem and that it all boils down to post-partum depression.

And while the “Toxic” singer has been reprimanded for making cell phone calls and leaving to attend meetings elsewhere, one good thing has come of Britney’s stay at Promises.

She managed to get her hands on some cute clothes—online.

Jason Donovan's tell-all Kylie book

Jasondonovan

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here star Jason Donovan is to write a book, and he promises to reveal all the secrets of his relationship with Kylie Minogue.

Ms Kylie, currently nursing a broken heart after being ditched by tabloid-dubbed "love-rat," French actor Oliver Martinez, dated Donovan for a while before leaving him for INXS singer Michael Hutchence.

At one point, Jason was a more successful recording artist than Kylie.

He sold more than 3m records in the UK between 1988 and 1992.

Now, in his £1m book, he will reveal his struggle with drugs, his sexual encounters with other "celebs" and his gay jibe shame.

In 1992 Jason sued magazine The Face over accusations he was a homosexualist. Although he won the libel case, he was vilified by many gay people and his recording career collapsed.

He has made a comeback in West End musicals, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Joseph and The Rocky Horror Show.

A spokesman for Donovan said, "This is the book every Jason and Kylie fan has been hoping for.

"There is no aspect of Jason's life and relationships he has not gone into. The book will be out this autumn," he said, according to contactmusic.com

Possible titles include Too Many Broken Hearts In The World and I'm A Kylie, Get Me Out Of Here.

George's £750K Topshop gig

Gmichael

Retail billionaire Sir Philip Green is going to pay gay crooner George Michael £750K to play at his birthday celebrations.

Sir Philip is planning to push the boat out for his  55th birthday - he is flying 100 guests to the Maldives and has also got singer Ricky Martin to appear.

For George, this is just the latest in a string of highly-paid private gigs.

The singer saw in the New Year in the company of 300 guests of an un-named Russian billionaire, peforming an hour-long concert at the oligarch’s mansion near Moscow. He was paid £1.5m for his trouble.

The accidental outing of a pop Idol

Callea

Anthony Callea, the Australian pop star made famous by his stint on TV show Australian Idol  was "accidentally outed" on Australian radio last week.

The singer's sexuality was blurted out by name-dropping traffic reporter Vic Lorusso, who just couldn't resist mentioning that his male friend's partner was in fact the Aussie heartthrob.

The Sydney radio station quickly issued a statement saying that loose-tongued Lorusso wasn't aware that Callea's sexuality was a secret.

The radio station in question has been inundated with phone calls from fans supporting Callea regardless of his sexuality, whilst well-known gay activist Rodney Croome has called (rather dramatically) for Callea to "unveil his boyfriend."

Lorusso apparently must have missed Callea denying gay rumours for the past three years, like when he publicly stated:  “I'm not gay. I don't know why people say I am. A lot of people just make up rubbish.”

So you're not gay ... but your boyfriend is?

'N Sync star's gay autobiography

Lance_1

Lance Bass, who ran out of the closet last year at the tender age of 27, has announced he is writing his autobiography.

The tome will reveal his thoughts on his time as one fifth of mega-boyband 'N Sync.

That's how it is written. Honest. I checked it online. 'N Sync. Anyway while we can hold out for some revelations about band member Justin Trousersnake, it seems unlikely.

Perhaps there will be some gossip about his ex, model and former Air Force Captain, Reichen Lehmkuhl.

Yes, we had to check the spelling on that one too.  The couple split up in January, allegedly because Reichen has a bit of a problem with monogamy.

We feel for you, Lance.  They both announced the end of the relationship on their respective MySpace pages. How 21st century.

Lance's autobiography will be called - wait for it - Out Of Sync.

When he came out to People magazine in July, Lance said:

"The main reason I wanted to speak my mind was that (the rumours) really were starting to affect my daily life. Now it feels like it's on my terms. I'm at peace with my family, my friends, myself and God so there's really nothing else that I worry about.

"The thing is, I'm not ashamed, that's the one thing I want to say.

"I don't think it's wrong, I'm not devastated going through this. I'm more liberated and happy than I've been my whole life. I'm just happy."

Being gay is even more fun than being in 'N Sync - official.

Adventures in Downing St

Downingstdoor

Staff at No 10 were this afternoon lucky enough to receive a visit from PinkNews.

Although PinkNews did not have time to meet Tony Blair, we were mildly impressed with Downing St itself.

Walking through the world's most famous front door does give one a sense of history, mostly of Margaret Thatcher in tears and a triumphant Tony Blair in 97, not to mention a sense of excitement that we might catch a glimpse of one of the PM's two dishy sons (Euan and Nicholas obviously, not Leo).

The staircase with all the portraits of Prime Ministers is very cool, though we did wonder what happens when they need to add a new picture - does one of the early ones get put into storage?

Anyway, the reception rooms are as lovely as one would imagine, the biscuits were quality and the atmosphere suitably West Wing.

Next time we want to see the Cabinet Room!

US daytime soap tackles trans issues

Carlson

American soap All My Children will make history later this week when it introduces the first transgender character in daytime drama.

Actor Jeffrey Carlson, who starred in the Broadway flop musical Taboo, plays British rock star Zarf on the popular show.

Carlson is a proper Shakespearean actor who has done all the greats darling - Romeo, Henry IV - and he was nominated for an award for his work in Taboo.

Now Carlson's character on All My Children, Zarf,  is to become Zoe - or to quote from Wikipedia:

"Zoe returned to the show November 29, 2006 and will be undergoing male to female gender reassignment, apparently sometime in 2007.

"When she first came to Pine Valley she was naked at Fusion. Then she fell in love with Bianca, who is a lesbian.

"She was accused of murder and attempted murder of Dani, Simone and Erin. At the Chandler Mansion she revealed that she was transgender but nobody believed her except for Babe. She was also attacked by the Satin Slayer."

Phew. But it is not all silly plotlines.

Six transgender people will talk about their real-life experiences on the show as part of a support group segment of the episode, reports WENN.

There are some wicked pictures of Carlson in Taboo drag if you click here

Count Duckula makes DVD comeback

Duckula

Season 2 of classic Brit cartoon series Count Duckula is to be released on DVD on 26th March.

Duckula, voiced by David Jason, was a huge hit with kids young and old when it was aired between 1988 and 1993.

The show followed the adventures of the camp Count, a homage to Dracula, though Duckula was cowardly, squeamish - and a vegetarian.

He lives in Castle Duckula with his nanny, a large hen, and lugubrious sidekick Igor.

Out of the numerous villans of the show, The Crow Brothers were a PinkNews favourite!

If you loved the show as a kid, don't miss out on the chance to re-live those lazy afternoons after school.

Gay singer to play Lenin

Moiseev

Russia's most famous gay has told a TV programme that he is to play Lenin in an upcoming movie.

Boris Moiseyev described his role in The Third Coming:

"A new Lenin, who would have organise another coup d'etat in Kremlin, had he been alive."

"Believe me, I am not dangerous," he said, according to Interfax.

"Though armed I am, with my honour and conscience, my intellect and truth."

Wow. You don't hear Graham Norton say that sort of thing.

Graham, of course, found time last year to star in the film Another Gay Movie, in which his character was camp, unconvincing, and with a stupid accent.

Oh well.

H from Steps claims he was chatted up by A-List

H

Ian Watkins, who shocked the nation by revealing that he is a gayer, has now shocked us all once again by implying that closeted Hollywood stars and pop and rock talents tried to hit on the Welsh half-wit when he was himself in the closet.

"I was shocked by some of the famous men who approached me. Very shocked," the talentless idiot told someone or other, contactmusic.com possibly.

"Some were US movie stars and I was like, 'What? Are you serious?' and some were huge pop stars.

"That is their decision if they want to keep it quiet. They obviously sensed that I was gay and passed their number on or made advances."

Huge pop stars, eh? Wonder who he means. Rick Waller?

What a fascinating insight into the world of Hollywood.

Basically "H" - name names  - which movie stars?

Come on then?

George Michael to play Wembley

Wembley

Former Wham singer turned solo artist George Michael will be the first performer to play at the new Wembley Stadium.

The singer will perform at the London venue on June 9 as part of his summer European tour.

Michael played at the venue in 1985 for Live Aid, the Band Aid charity concert, and again in 1986 for Wham's farewell concert.

The new stadium has an all-seated capacity of 90,000 and at a cost of £800m is the most expensive in history.

The venue has 2,000 toilets.

Alex Horne, the managing director of Wembley Stadium told the BBC: "He's no stranger to this great stage having performed at the old stadium."

"This is a fitting first gig in the new stadium. We are looking forward to putting the stadium back on the world map as a major music destination."

Speaking to Michael Parkinson last year, Michael confirmed his intention to form a civil partnership with Goss.

Calvin Klein says goodbye to Freddie Ljunberg

Fredrikljungberg06
Who says there’s ever a dull moment in fashion? Djimon Hounsou takes it off for Calvin Klein… “Okay…Drop ‘em Djimon!”

There’ll be no DiCaprio, but that’s what they’ll be saying on the set of Djimon Hounsou’s next project.

Taking the place of the scrumptious soccer star Freddie Ljungberg, Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou is set to be the new face (and body) Calvin Klein Steel, the latest product line from Calvin Klein, Inc.

Look for the diamond cut star of films like Amistad, Gladiator and Blood Diamond to be featured in Calvin Klein’s global print and outdoor campaign for Fall 2007 a la Mark Wahlberg and Travis Fimmel.

Hounsou is only the ninth man to be featured in a Calvin Klein Underwear campaign.
He will also be one of the few African-Americans and the first actor in over a decade to serve as the all-important face of the ubiquitous and extremely popular underwear brand.

Blair's rude hand gesture

Wankerblair

The BBC has uncovered this delightful image of a young Tony Blair at university in Oxford.

The 21-year-old Blair comes across as a rather sexually confident young man, what with that hand gesture and the funky head gear.

There are some extremely camp hats being worn as well ..... all a bit Brideshead Revisited.

The PM has said that the image is: "a picture that I wouldn't mind if I never saw again."

And that was when it was just a cropped version where u couldn't see his naughty hand!! God knows what he will make of it now.

Belinda Carlisle's same-sex romps

Belindacarlisle

Top singer Belinda Carlisle, (who, for the benefit of our younger readers, had a string of pop hits in the 1980's) has spoken about her sexual experiences with other women.

She told PlanetOut that she does not want her teenage son to find out about her lesbian exploits while a member of girlband the Go Gos.

Then she said :

"Without going into too much detail. I think all of us in the band, we've all had.. we've all been there and done that."

You claim you don't want your son to find out you tried it with another girl, so you tell a website who then print it ... a tactic from the Hello! school of keeping a secret there.

But now singer, hell raiser and TV presenter has confirmed on her lovely website that she is preggers, and that rugby boyo Gavin Henson is the father.
