Gay Tory reveals mayoral ambitions
He isn’t the Conservative Party’s
candidate for the London Mayoral elections. Not yet anyway. But last
night, Nick Boles, former Director of the influential think tank Policy
Exchange, told a large gathering of gay politicos at the popular social
networking event, Village Drinks, why he thought he qualified for the position.
Speaking at a special event at the Arts Club on Dover Street, he was asked by Matthew Parris whether he was prepared for the media attention on his life which lies ahead as he tries to become Mayor.
He happily told the crowd that all of the skeletons in his closet were “dancing in the street” – but, when asked what they were exactly, he couldn’t quite remember!
The speech was warmly received and the reaction of the audience indicates that Nick well be one to watch.
Village Drinks meanwhile is riding a wave of popularity. Their next event is at the CC Club on Wed 27th June and rumour is afoot that they are due to launch a new website ...

This was a well attended event - the next Main event is on Wednesday. It's usually extremely well attended.
