George's HIV stupidity

Georgemichael2
George Michael may not be afraid of making Fast Love in public toilets.

But like most gay men, it does appear he's scared of a little prick.

The singer hasn't had an HIV test since 2004, reveals Ross Wilson, producer of Stephen Fry's new TV show HIV And Me, because he's terrified the result may be positive.

Which makes us think of well know saying involving heads and sand.

The revelation follows news a book is being written on the singer's life detailing his "sexual freedom" and drug taking.

Brazil gripped by gay footballer rumour

This nugget is from Popbitch:

"It's not just Britain that's obsessed by  gay footballers.

There's a huge rumour going around media circles in Brazil that a top player in Sao Paulo wants to come out on a TV show, Fantastico, but that his agent and the club are trying to talk him out of it."

We would hazard a guess, but tragically we know nothing about football in Brazil ... do you?

True Brit singing sensation to emigrate?

Lilyallen

Lily Allen, who's ode to the English capital, LDN, asked 'why, oh why would I want to be anywhere else?' has announced that she is relocating to NYC.

According to reports, the singer's record company is shelling out $10,000 a month for a plush riverside apartment while she's working on a new album.

In contrast to a typical outing in London, which saw Allen encountering crack whores and watching old ladies getting mugged, New York's policy of zero tolerance has reportedly left city life strangely anaemic and fun-free.

But then as she was actually raised on the mean streets of Islington, Manhattan's coffee shops and boutiques are probably a home away from home.

Following recent reports of personal troubles, let's just hope they make her smile.

Singer reveals same-sex crush dilemma

Paolonunti

Paolo Nutini - crazy name, crazy guy!

The Scots singer has been telling journos about his encounter with a gay fan.

Apparently Paolo had been concentrating his attention on a lady member of the audience at one of his gigs,  but someone misunderstood:

"A guy came up to me later and said, 'I saw you looking at me throughout that song.'

"I said: 'I'm sorry man, I think there was a girl right beside you,'

"And he went: 'Aww, it wasn't me?' It was the most awkward moment.

"He said: 'So you're not gay?' And I said: 'No.' The dude walked away then came up again and shook my hand.

"He sort of went, 'I'm sorry about that see you later.' And then he left his number in my hand! Ten out of ten for trying!"

Oh Paolo it is true - gay men are bad at taking the hint.

And it is not your fault you are 20 and all pretty and emo and things.

PinkNews advice?
Try to look more straight in future.

BB loser's gayness may be an act

Seany

The father of ex Big Brother contestant Seany has said his son is only pretending to be gay.

Sean O'Kane, 47, spoke to The Star. First mistake. He said:

“My son’s not gay, it was all a game plan. But sadly it was one that backfired on him.

“I know he kissed Gerry but he is not gay. He was doing it for the cameras."

Aaaah, denial. Is there a stronger force in the world today?

Anyway, the 25-yea-old ginger joker told the tabloid he is actually gay! And he has now told his dad.

Die Hard - Brokeback edition

Diehard4

Justin Long - who co-stars in summer blockbuster Die Hard 4.0 with old hand Bruce Willis - has revealed his plans for the franchise.

At last night's London premiere, he said he would love to come back for Hard 5:

"I feel like at the end, I felt like the natural progression is that Bruce and I end up kind of getting together as a couple, and it becomes more of a romantic, Brokeback Mountain type venue to take it in that direction.

“I don’t know if the world is ready for Die Hard to go that way."

God, the bears will have a field day. Brucie goes gay for pay etc.

But what to call it? Die Hard, Ride Hard?

Justin, 29, was in hit movie Dodgeball and dodgy TV series Ed.

And get this. Those really quite annoying ads that Mitchell and Webb have been doing for Apple?

Justin did THE SAME ADS in the States! Playing the cool one, obviously.

BB hetero snags more modelling

Ziggy

He has not even managed to get himself kicked out of the Big Brother house, yet heterosexual stud muffin has already been signed up for modelling gigs on the outside.

Zac Lichman, also known as Ziggy, will be the face, the remarkable simian face, of Lynx deodorant.

First they had Kelly Brook, then the waa-waa-waa-waa-waa thing, whatever that was, and now it is pixie-favced Ziggy.

It is not hard to see where Lynx sees its market share - somewhere along the M6.

Ziggy has been amusing no-one with his general ignorance of gay behaviour - something we might get exercised about if anyone was actually watching BB, which they aren't ...

Gay Tory reveals mayoral ambitions

Nickboles
He isn’t the Conservative Party’s candidate for the London Mayoral elections. Not yet anyway.  But last night, Nick Boles, former Director of the influential think tank Policy Exchange, told a large gathering of gay politicos at the popular social networking event, Village Drinks, why he thought he qualified for the position
.

Speaking at a special event at the Arts Club on Dover Street, he was asked by Matthew Parris whether he was prepared for the media attention on his life which lies ahead as he tries to become Mayor.

He happily told the crowd that all of the skeletons in his closet were “dancing in the street” – but, when asked what they were exactly, he couldn’t quite remember!

The speech was warmly received and the reaction of the audience indicates that Nick well be one to watch.

Village Drinks meanwhile is riding a wave of popularity.  Their next event is at the CC Club on Wed 27th June and rumour is afoot that they are due to launch a new website ...

Annoying Shabnam booted out of Big Brother

Preview95534170a8c949988e586ae800_3 Since Tuesday, the public have been voting to decide whether Carole, Shabnam or Tracey should be the first housemate to be publicly evicted from the Big Brother house.

During tonight’s 10:00pm show, Davina McCall announced live to the house that the next person to be evicted would be Shabnam. She received 81.4% of the total votes cast, and had to leave the Big Brother house immediately to be greeted by Davina and the crowd outside.

On hearing the news, Shabnam said “I told you, I knew it. I knew it” before kissing and hugging her housemates. “I’ve had a blast” she said, as Charley started crying and hugging her. “You don’t deserve to go!” said Amanda.

“We’ll stay in touch. I’ll support you all. I love you all, don’t forget me” said Shabnam as she finally left the Big Brother house.

Earlier this evening in the 8:30pm show, four new male housemates arrived. Billi, 25, Brian, 19, Jonathan, 49, and Liam, 22, joined what was once an all-female house, meaning there are now seven male and eight female housemates in the Big Brother house.

One question: did anyone care enough to watch? We were glued to Britain's Got Talent.

Gay journo slams Scientologist actor

Hairspray

The Washington Blade has had a right go at John Travolta for his upcoming role in movie Hairspray.

The remake of the John Waters classic will see Mr Saturday Night Fever dress up in ladies' clothes as Mrs Edna Turnblad (yes, that's him in the fat suit. Well at least we think it's a fat suit).

Blade editor Kevin Naff is, like, SO not impressed:

"Travolta, a prominent Scientologist, has no business for reprising an iconic gay role.

"'It's well known that Scientology rejects gays and lesbians as members and even operates reparative therapy clinics to 'cure' homosexuality. Divine is spinning in his grave."

Take that Travolta!

Anyway, Divine looked better in our view:

Paris Hilton back in real jail

Parishiltonalbum

Inexplicable celebrity Paris Hilton is heading back to grown up jail, having been released from the medical facility where she was being held.

TMZ.com says:

"Hilton has been doing much better with the proper meds, and we're told that there has been pressure on the Sheriff's Department to move her back to the Lynwood jail when the medical facility was no longer necessary. We're told that now Hilton has been deemed "medically stable."

"A rep for the L.A. County Sheriff tells TMZ that Paris was taken from the correctional treatment center at Twin Towers "late last night" and was transported back to Lynwood. The last time she did time at Lynwood, she was in a solitary cell in a special needs unit."

Rufus W shows his catty side

Andersoncooper

Crooner Rufus Wainwright has launched a super-bitchy attack on closeted TV presenter Anderson Cooper.

Silver-tongued and silver-haired Anderson, 40, has consistently refused to talk about his personal life, but Out magazine last month counted the CNN presenter among the most influential gays in the US media.

His Mika-like reticence to reveal his sexuality has clearly annoyed Rufus.

"If they stay in the closet, they’re going to make a lot more money," said the singer.

"I go to the same gym as Anderson Cooper. When I look at him lifting those 5-pound weights, it makes me think, ‘He’s just trying to live his life and be all that he can be.’ But he still goes to the gayest gym in New York.”

His comments have now started a whole debate about which gym is the gayest.

Gay Who enthusiasts get Captain Jack fix at Pride

Doctorwho2
The last episode of children's programme Doctor Who is to be shown on the same day as London Pride - what's to do?

Stay at  home and watch the children's programme? Or go out and party with tens of thousands of fellow homos, at least some of whom are likely to be attractive?

Pride London, knowing that no television programme is ever repeated in the UK, have solved this dilemma by announcing they're to show the final episode on the big screen in Trafalgar Square.

Phew. Actor John Barrowman will be talking about his role in Doctor Who earlier in the day.

Ok ok, here is the serious bit:

The Pride London Main Stage is hosted by Graham Norton, John Barrowman, Amy Lamé, Gaydar Radio’s Jamie Crick and Lucio from Capital Radio.

Confirmed artists include Darren Hayes, Unklejam, The Axe Girls, Kelly and the Kelly Girls and many more.

From London’s West End the show will also feature extracts from ‘Wicked’ and Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Joseph'. Also appearing are leading politicians and LGBT activist speakers from around the world.

The programme starts at 3.00 in Trafalgar Square following the Pride Parade from Oxford Street and finishes with the Doctor Who screening at 7.10. The bars will remain open throughout the day.

Hurrah! Drink!

Also note that it wil be the last day patrons will be able to smoke inside gay bars - that Patricia Hewitt, nanny-knows-best smoking ban comes into effect on the 1st July.

PinkNews.co.uk has officially never heard of these people:

Unklejam, The Axe Girls, Kelly and the Kelly Girls

which is a sure sign we are getting old.

Trans time on ITV

Thismorning

That nice Eamonn Holmes is to present This Morning over the summer, when Phil n Fern (pictured) go off on their holidays.

It has been revealed that the show's producers are planning a regular section internally dubbed "tranny transformation."

The premise is that a lucky member of Britain's transgender population will be
"given a makeover for a special occasion."

They are planning to do this EVERY WEEK!

Why?

To foster understanding and tolerance of trans issues?

Or to laugh at people? Hard to say, though This Morning is reknowned throughout the land for its lack of humour. Bring back Britain's favourite himbo, Richard Madeley.

Oh, for those of you with jobs, This Morning is a 3-hour endurance test for housewives, broadcast on ITV1 in the mornings.

Kylie gets a gong!

Dame

dame commander of the british empire
Musictrust
the music industry trusts' award

At PinkNews Towers, we have for many years been of the opinion that tiny songstress Kylie of Minogue is deserving of an honour.

Personally, we live in hope that she will be invited to the Palace by that other small lady, the Queen, and emerge as Dame Kylie.

It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Better her than that whiny woman who sailed round the world crying.

Anyway, Ms Kylie has been given an award - and she is the first woman to get it.

It is called the Music Industry Trusts' Award.

I know. Exciting.

She will be given this award in October. Other people who have got it in the past include SIR Elton John, SIR George Martin and not-SIR Peter Gabriel.

"It is an incredible honour to be the recipient of this year's Music Industry Trust's Award and I am truly thrilled to be recognised in this way," said Kylie, who was clearly terribly well brought up. How polite she is!

"As well as being a fantastic evening, this award ceremony also raises much needed funds for The Brit Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and it is a pleasure for me to be involved."

Good on you - time for the Palace to get on the blower and sort out that Damehood.

Eddie Izzard the lipstick lesbian

Eddieizzard

In an interview with The Mirror today Eddie Izzard reveals how he's always known he was a transvestite.

The Oceans' Thirteen comic says:  "I fancy girls, but I'm a wannabe lesbian - a kind of a wannabe lipstick lesbian. But I'm quite happy being a guy too. I don't do a big mental shift if I'm throwing on a dress. Those feelings are constantly with me, you know. It's just a side of my sexuality, a side of my personality and it's complicated."

He also admits how he was worried about coming out as transgender in America.

"I played it with a softly-softly approach because I arrived in America wearing a dress and then I took it away."

You call arriving in America in a dress, when you're in a film with Brad Pitt and George Clooney, a softly softly approach?

"Also, I'm a straight transvestite which makes it slightly easier because everyone goes, 'You're such a bloke, for God's sake."

And as we all know, nothing is more manly than a pair of size nine glittery heels and seamed stockings.  Go get 'em Eddie.

Big Brother straighteners war

Bigbrother

A row erupted in the Big Brother house last night over hair straighteners.

Has Lewis from Any Queen Will Do been popping in and stealing them?

Apparently not.  Student Emily Parr and Posh Spice wannabe Chanelle Hayes argued over who should get priority.

Emily said:  “It's irrelevant how much hair you've got.

"I was just making a point. If you start giving people priority over luxuries in this house, they'll start expecting it of other things."

So long as you don’t blow it out of all proportion, eh love?

And into all this muddle and confusion, Big Brother are throwing a gay man.

18-year old Rylan Clark is a make-up artist from Essex, and has got a reputation for stirring.

He claims to be friends with the notorious Nadia and ex-contestant Makosi.

Graham Norton is unlucky in love

Grahamnorton

Graham Norton has confessed that he has love-life troubles.

It seems the rich and successful Any Queen Will Do host is "clearly not good" when it comes to relationships.

"I seem to appeal to people who are bound to disappoint," he told heat magazine.

"One of the most annoying myths about celebrity is that it might get you laid.

"In fairness, the people I do sleep with are better-looking than the people I slept with prior to becoming famous. But I think it's to do with being rich as well."

I see - so, you CAN bag a boyfriend, but unfortunately they all happen to be beautiful sexy types, as opposed to the mingers you lust after unsuccessfully.

It's a hard life.

Jim Carrey gay romance film

Jimcarrey2
Jim Carrey has certainly grown up from his days of Liar Liar and the Mask.  And now he's set to star in a gay prison romance.

Yes, you heard us right.

According to cinematic.com, Carrey will play a conman who escapes from prison four times in order to find love with his cellmate.

The film is being advertised as Catch Me if You Can meets Brokeback Mountain.

Carrey managed a leap from idiot comic to serious  moody actor, but somehow we doubt he'll make a similar leap from pet detective to sexy gay icon.

Any Dream Will Do- goodbye Ben Ellis

How could we miss it? The silly queens at PinkNews.co.uk chose not to sit in front of the television watching Any Dream Will Do and voting for Ben Ellis. Instead the blogger due to write about the show went out and left the blog unmanned.
Benellis2
What happens when he emerges from his hangover? He finds out that the gorgeous Ben Ellis was dumped from the show by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber. Poor, Poor Joesph and all that.

Lewis Bradley, who we have mixed views about was saved.
