We don’t have confirmation about any of the people whose sexuality we’re speculating on… I mean, after all, Ricky Martin
could be a card carrying member of the gay community or just really
into showing off his physique in a skimpy speedo with the aide of a
similarly toned, awfully touchy-feely personal trainer.
Well
the list of “maybe gays” is far from over. In fact, there’s so many of
them, we had to stretch it to two lists—some of these theories are
valid, and others, well… let’s just say if a tall tale about a gerbil
in your ass is the best you can do, it’s time to reevaluate your game
plan.

Enrique Iglesias
Like
Ricky Martin, the mega selling metro, Latino pop star oozes slick good
looks and a sort of charm the gay community feels would be wasted on
the ladies.
Rumours to Support: Just last
month, Enrique swung by a burlesque show on the one night the
gentlemen, and not the ladies, were performing. He has a number of gay
friend who he clubs with on a regular basis.
On the Contrary: He’s been with tennis star Anna Kournikova
for years, and he purposely set up a performance at London hot spot
G.A.Y. to quiet rumors he was uncomfortable with his gay fans—he even
serenaded a boy with the song “Hero”.
Likelihood He’s Gay:
Four out of Ten – He seems way too comfortable with himself to be
lying, but it could all be a very well orchestrated part of his master
plan.
Jada Pinkett Smith
The press just loves to rip apart a Hollywood super-couple, but for more than a decade, Jada Pinkett and Will Smith
have managed to lead their lives largely unscathed—well, with the
exception of that pesky rumor that the relationship is a sham.
Rumours to Support: Like her Set It Off
costar Queen Latifah, rumors have followed Jada about her sexuality
since making the film. Unlike Latifah, Pinkett went out and got
married—but the press still suggests the marriage is a sham and built
to keep Hollywood gossips at bay
On the Contrary: They do have two kids together—and at this point, if the marriage really were a sham, don’t you think they’d have split up?
Likelihood She’s Gay: Three out of Ten – I’m not saying it isn’t possible, just highly unlikely.
Keanu Reeves
Ever
since Bill and Ted took a most excellent adventure, Keanu Reeves has
been the bad boy surfer type you can’t quite pigeon hole but absolutely
can’t take your eyes off. Which makes him prime fodder for a “maybe
gay” rumor.
Rumours to Support:
It’s rare in Hollywood that a leading man can spend his entire career
keeping his love life out of the press and off of the red carpet and
not cause at least a few eye brows to shoot up.
On the Contrary: In the late ’90s, Keanu went public about a relationship with Jennifer Syme—in 1999, the couple mourned the stillborn birth of their daughter. Two years later, Syme was killed in a car accident.
Likelihood He’s Gay:
Five out of Ten – Have to go with the 50/50 split here. Nothing about
Keanu’s life is public fodder, so really, anything is possible.
Katherine Moennig
Anyone
who hasn't speculated on Kate Moennig's sexual preference obviously
hasn't seen a single episode of Showtime's hit lesbian drama The L Word. This girl just screams 'dyke' every time she gets in close proximity to another woman—and on The L Word, that's very close indeed. If that's not enough, before Moennig played gay, she played male (as Jake Pratt in Young Americans) and transsexual (Law and Order).
Rumours to Support: In 2005, the New York Post's Page Sex reported Moennig and Portia de Rossi's ex-girlfriend Francesca Gregorini 'canoodling' at a party "in full view of guests". In 2006, L Word co-star Jennifer Beals
lumped Kate in with a list of women she consults when she needs help
'playing a lesbian'. All of the other women she mentioned, Leisha Hailey, Illene Chaiken & Rose Troche are out lesbians.
On the Contrary: Kate
has steadfastly refused to discuss her sexual orientation, though as we
all know, that really doesn't help people think you're straight.
Moennig has never been linked to a long-term relationship with another
woman. But then again, she hasn't been linked to one with a man either.
Likelihood She’s Gay: Nine out of Ten - Moennig ranks right up there with Jodie Foster for women who are just so gay—it really seems even pointless to keep it under wraps any longer.
Wentworth Miller
He’s
arguably the hottest guy in primetime these days, which makes him a
tasty dish just ripe for the tasting—which of course means every gay
man wants him to bat for our team.
Rumours to Support: Gossip columnists have been trying to out Wentworth since the day Prison Break premiered. Photos of Miller and Brothers & Sisters star Luke MacFarlane
enjoying each other’s company in Santa Monica have fueled rumors Miller
is gay… every other Weho homo claims to have a Wentworth Miller story.
On the Contrary: He’s adamantly denied it in interviews—and even says he’s ready to settle down with a wife and kids.
Likelihood He’s Gay: Eight out of Ten – Hear something once or twice, you can dismiss it. A few dozen times, it starts to ring true.
Richard Gere
Since long before he married Cindy Crawford—and even longer before he got with current wife Carey Lowell—Hollywood’s most famous prematurely gray leading man has been dodging rumors that he’s gay.
Rumours to Support:
We’ve all heard the one about the gerbil in the emergency room—over and
over again. Rumours got so bad, Gere and Crawford actually took out an
ad in the trades confirming they were not gay.
On the Contrary:
He’s a family man now, settled down with kids… and now that he’s
pushing 60, no one seems that interested in outing him anymore.
Likelihood He’s Gay: Five out of Ten—But then again, is anyone really asking anymore?
