Matt Damon - suburban dad
People magazine has named a self-proclaimed “aging suburban dad” its latest “sexiest man alive.”
Who does that describe, you ask? None other than Matt Damon, the 37-year-old actor, husband (to Luciana Bozan) and father (of 1-year-old Isabella).
"You gave an aging suburban dad the ego boost of a lifetime," Damon says in a letter published in the annual issue, which hits newsstands on Friday. "My 9-year-old stepdaughter now thinks I'm cool—well, cooler."
Damon has displayed his sexiness in quite a few roles over the years, including Good Will Hunting (for which he won a screenwriting Academy Award in 1998), The Departed, Syriana, the Ocean's franchise and The Bourne Identity and its two sequels.
Joining Damon on People’s list this year: Ben Affleck, Dave Annable, Javier Bardem, Patrick Dempsey, Johnny Depp, Adrian Grenier, Will Yun Lee, Shemar Moore, James McAvoy, Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds, Will Smith and Justin Timberlake.
The magazine first compiled its "sexiest man alive" list in 1985 with Mel Gibson earning the top honor. Other actors who have made the cut: George Clooney (1997 and 2006), Pitt (1995 and 2000), Denzel Washington (1996) and Depp (2003).
