She dropped the F-bomb on live TV, and now NYC veteran news anchor Sue Simmons says she's "truly sorry" for letting the explitive slip on a news cast last night. Simmons blurted out the word when the wrong footage aired during a teaser on the 11 p.m. newscast Monday night. The
words, "what the fuck are you doing", could be heard over the newscast.
The screen on WNBC went momentarily blank following the flub. FOX
News reports that Simmons returned later in the news cast to apologize
for using "a word that many people find offensive. It was a mistake I
made and I'm truly sorry." It's the latest in a string of on air flubs for news programs in recent months. Earlier this year, The Today Show made headlines when Oscar winner Jane Fonda let slip the word "c**t" during an interview with Meredith Vieira regarding the play The Vagina Monologues. Vieira returned later in that broadcast to apologise on Fonda's behalf to viewers.
