Gareth Gates "a real fan of musical theatre"

1gareth
Gareth Gates (remember him?) will make his West End debut this July in a gala show celebrating the work of theatre composers George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Gates will be performing a song from Soho Cinders in a line-up that includes Leanne Jones (Hairspray) Daniel Boys (Avenue Q) and Oliver Tompsett (Wicked).

Back in 2002, Gareth Gates was the adorable one with the stammer on Pop Idol.

He lost out to renowned homosexual Will Young, but got signed up by git Simon Cowell anyway.

He even knocked Young off the number one slot in the charts.

More recently, he was in ITV's Dancing on Ice, and has been involved with charity work promoting AIDS awareness.

He told The Stage that he's “a real fan of musical theatre and have always wanted to perform in the West End.”

PS: The Gareth Gates money, which is totally bonkers and possibly illegal, is from this weird novelty site. Check it out.

A Spoonful of Stiles and Drewe will play at Her Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday 6th July, for one night only .
