The latest buzz in Lindsay Lohan's life is that she and her oft-rumoured girlfriend Samantha Ronson plan to tie the knot. But Lindsay’s outspoken father Michael Lohan said he won’t be walking his daughter down the aisle for a gay wedding.
“I
haven’t heard anything (about an upcoming wedding) from Lindsay, but if
she was marrying Sam, I don’t think she’d ask me to walk her down the
aisle,” Michael said, according to MSNBC “She knows about my (Christian) faith… she just wouldn’t ask.”
While
neither Lindsay, 22, nor Ronson, 30, has yet to confirm they are in a
relationship, her father, an ex-con turned devout Christian, has spoken
fairly openly about the purported love of Lindsay’s life.
When pictures of Lindsay and Ronson kissing and nuzzling surfaced from Cannes earlier this year, Michael told US Magazine that his daughter’s relationship with Ronson “is evident to anyone with half a brain.”
But Michael went on to say “Just like the [topless] Marilyn Monroe
spread, Linds is my daughter and there are just some things a father
doesn’t want to see or hear, regardless of whether they are true or
false," Michael commented. Lindsay “is a big girl, and she can make her
own life choices. Then it is between her and God.”
Recently, Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton outed Lindsay and Ronson during an on-camera interview with KNBC-TV regarding Los Angeles City Council hearings on clamping down on paparazzi.
“If
you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris
is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently,
Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don’t seem to have much of an issue
[with the paparazzi],” Bratton said.
Ronson fired back at Bratton on her Facebook page posting, “Bratton talk less and do more.”
Lindsay, furious at L.A.P.D.’s top cop told TMZ reporters
at Los Angeles International Airport Friday, “Police chiefs shouldn’t
get involved in everyone else’s business when it comes to their
personal life. It’s inappropriate.”
Since the war of words
between Lindsay and Bratton, Internet rumours have surfaced that she and
Ronson plan to take advantage of gay marriage in the Golden State,
which became legal on June 17.
While Lindsay and Ronson have
neither confirmed the marriage rumours or even their relationship,
Michael, who's said he can’t support a lesbian relationship based on
his Christian principles, does want the best for his daughter.
“I want her to be happy and healthy and stay on the right path,” Michael said, according to MSNBC. “If I discuss (her relationship), I say that I want her to be happy.”
