Boy George's sympathy for George Michael

Gay star Boy George knows a thing or two about drugs, and he has spoken out after fellow celeb George Michael was arrested and cautioned last week for possession of crack cocaine and cannabis.

"I'm sober now. I don't drink or take drugs, it's chaotic and miserable," he said on ITV1's  The Alan Titchmarsh Show.

"I do sympathise with George. You need perspective and the only way to do that is to get away from your drug problems and get yourself clean."

Boy George has also had his brushes with the law.

In 2006 he completed five days of community service in New York after being convicted of false reporting of an incident.

He claimed he had been robbed, but when police arrived to investigate they found a large quantity of cocaine in his flat.
