The Daily Mirror, citing a “pal” as a source, claimed last year that Lindsay had her eye on effeminate Gossip Girl star Chase Crawford.
She was said to be texting him non-stop: “Although she may just be having a laugh and not have any serious amorous intentions, everyone reckons Sam will go mad when she finds out.”
The People circulated the rumour that Sam is nervous of this supposed eventuality: “Sam worries [Lindsay] wants to start dating guys again.”
It seems that tabloid hacks have an obscene desire for her to return to heterosexual Hollywood duties.
Yet, on top of Lindsay's myriad personal issues, we hazard a guess that any relationship could become a little intense when paparazzi stalk your every move and the public feels your private life is up for grabs.
Gay musician Patrick Wolf has claimed he was assaulted by bouncers at a Madonna concert during her 'Sticky & Sweet' tour last year.
He
told EQ, the music blog, "Three songs in, me and my man were kissing
and there were loads of conservative straight couples around us that
complained.
"And then the bouncers came up to me and said, 'Can you stop
that? This is a family venue.'"
Wolf went on to claim that he was
handcuffed by security and beaten up outside Wembley Arena.
"The police
came and it just went on and on and on. My man's face covered in blood.
I couldn't move for like a month."
He has now said as a result of the incident he will never listen to Madonna's music again.
Madonna's gay brother has lashed out at Demi Moore claiming that she ditched their friendship after meeting her now husband Ashton Kutcher.
"A certain kind of diva carries a gay man around like a handbag, like an accessory," said the not-in-any-way-bitter Christopher Ciccone.
"And then once they find the right straight guy, they don't need a male companion any more."
This is not the first time Ciccone has spoken out against Moore.
In August last year, he revealed how she had squirted breast milk over his lesbian friends.
"We went out and Demi was dancing up on me and humping me from behind. The one part that's not in the book is that she was lactating at the time and she was squirting breast milk at my lesbian friends. The lawyers didn't think it was wise for me to print that."

After realising what a hypocritical buffoon he had been, he claimed the slur was a joke.
McFadden, via a statement from his publicist, told Confidential his pink thinking should not be taken out of context.
"To come to the conclusion that I am homophobic from these sentences is far from the truth," the statement read.
"Some of my friends and colleagues are gay and if I was truly homophobic then I have picked the wrong industry."
Finally a testament to Bryan McFadden’s idiocy: " no normal man should wear pink, only gay men should wear pink".
Dear, dear, dear Mr. McFadden.
People Magazine is enjoying the victory of being the first publication in the U.S. to feature photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newest family additions.
The magazine published a collection of photos of the Pitt-Jolie family, including the first photos of the 3 week old twins, in this week’s issue.
People, along with the British tabloid Hello! magazine, reportedly paid $14 million for the privilege of being the first to publish photos of twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.
After months of speculation and a slew of false media reports, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt became new parents once again on Saturday, July 12.
Jolie gave birth to twins at the La Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France.
The couple named the baby girl Vivienne Marcheline, the middle name for Jolie's late mother Marcheline Bertrand, and the baby boy Knox Leon.
Knox Lean weighed just over 5 pounds at birth, with baby girl Vivienne Marcheline weighing in right at 5 pounds.
The twins arrived shortly before 8 p.m. on Saturday, French time, and were born 15 minutes apart.
The couple, often nicknamed Brangelina, has one other biological couple together, Shiloh, 2, and three adopted children, Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3.
The newest Jolie-Pitt son has already received the nickname “Fort Knox” in the press because of the stupendous price paid for the first photos of the babies.
A cover photo featuring the twins was featured on the People Magazine website on Sunday, with more photos published in the print publication released on Monday. British tabloid magazine Hello! published the photos in tandem with People in the UK.
The combined price of $14 million was paid for the photos by the two magazines, according to The Associated Press.
The money will reportedly be donated to a foundation created by Pitt and Jolie to help children around the world.
Although various media reports fueled a rumour that Jolie and Pitt resorted to fertility treatments to conceive the twins, the couple told People that the twins were not a result of in-vitro fertilisation.
“If they had been conceived through IVF, we would have been happy to discuss it,” Jolie told People.
“But we have been fortunate never to have had fertility problems.”
Jolie and Pitt, who have been together since 2005, came out publicly in support of equal gay marriage rights by stating in 2006 to Esquire magazine that they would not marry until "everyone else in this country who wants to be married is legally able."

It's all stars and stripes, spangles and spandex for anti-fat crusader Richard Simmons, who hinted at a desire to run for Congress while speaking on Capitol Hill Thursday. Testifying
before the House Education and Labour Committee, on the issues of
battling childhood obesity and increasing school exercise programs,
fitness guru Simmons, 60, said in a half-kidding tone, "I want to have
the respect of a Congressman, I want to talk like a Congressman, and
maybe, someday, I'll be a Congressman." Then, answering about
three minutes of follow-up questions, Simmons adopted a politician’s
rhetoric to address the press. Simmons said at one point that he would
be available for the people. "However I can be of use," he said, "If my country wants me, I'll be there for my country." Sticking
close to his life-long purpose of awareness, education and
implementation of healthy eating and exercise, Simmons said, "(The new
president) is going to have to look at the statistics of what's
happening to our kids," Simmons told CNN Radio. "And then he's going to say who we can turn to? And it certainly isn't the Ghostbusters." Using professional wrestler turned Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura
as an example of a celebrity figure who successfully transitioned to a
politician, Simmons said he’s not ruling the idea of running for Congress out. Simmons closed the hearing by saying he would defer to his advisers to determine how to proceed. “After
this Congressional hearing, I will go home," Simmons said, "I will talk
with my Dalmatian dogs, I will pray to God and then I'll see what else
I can do to help." 
Despite reports the material girl had been planning to head to Yankees Stadium tonight to watch her pal A-Rod, her publicist has simply said “No” when asked if she’ll indeed be attending. According to Mark Malkin at E! Online, Madonna is worried the recent press connecting her to A-Rod will upstage the game. In fact, Madonna hasn’t seen her friend play in nearly a month, when she, with kids Rocco, David and Lourdes,
took in a Yankees game on June 22. Reports Madonna would attend Rodriguez's pre-game party in New York City last night also proved false. Guy Oseary, manager for both and the connection between the two, attended. Madonna has been facing down reports her marriage to Guy Ritchie is in trouble. Last week, A-Rod’s wife Cynthia filed for divorce, stating that the ball player had emotionally abandoned her and the kids. 
Madonna upstage the last All-Star game to be played at the soon to be torn down Yankees Stadium? Not according to her publicist Liz Rosenberg.
She kind of popped up at last week’s
game against the Toronto Blue Jays, when fans bombarded A-Rod with
photos of Madonna.
